2026 is almost two months gone and the community has been as involved as ever. Both the AtoM and Archivematica projects have been busy with community-reported issues and pull requests. Recently, both projects have merged community contributions for upcoming releases! Keep an eye on our roadmaps and minutes from the community development meetings for more information on current release work.

Contributors Portal

Have you been to Artefactual’s Contributors Portal yet? It’s a great place to go if you’re interested in contributing to one of the projects Artefactual maintains. There’s a cheatsheet of relevant links for each project and some contributing advice if you’re relatively new to the projects or GitHub. We’re regularly updating it with information that’s useful for contributing to Artefactual’s projects.

There’s more than Archivematica and AtoM listed there too. If you’re curious about the Enduro project, visit the Contributors Portal to find out more.

Roadmap updates

You can view the latest AtoM and Archivematica roadmaps, which will continue to change as we work towards major releases for both. We welcome your feedback, so please contact contributors@artefactual.com or start a thread in the AtoM or Archivematica user forums to discuss.

Community Development Meetings

Until March 2026, we are hosting public community development meetings for all contributors and potential contributors. If you haven’t been, but have thought about coming there is still time next month! We also post our minutes from every meeting, so you can catch up and contact us if you have any questions. We would love to hear from you.

The AtoM community development meeting is on the third Thursday of the month at 8.30am Pacific time. The joining link can be found on the wiki page.

The Archivematica community meeting will be on the fourth Thursday of the month at 8.30am Pacific time. The joining link can be found on the wiki page.
