June was a busy month for the community. Each open source project had Contributor Gatherings and community development meetings. There were also some contributions this past month and more work being done towards different types of contributions.
Contributor GatheringsÂ
The Archivematica Contributors Gathering was held on Thursday, 4 June 2026. The group talked about preservation storage and the Archivematica Storage Service. You can read more about it in the summary report here.
The AtoM Contributors Gathering was held on Thursday, 18 June 2026. The group looked at the soon-to-be-released AtoM Foundation’s Technical Registry. There were also some demonstrations of extensions for AtoM. You can read more about it in the summary report here.
Community Development MeetingsÂ
We had busy community development meetings this month, held at the end of each Contributors Gathering. There were some great discussions in each meeting, so please remember to look at the minutes which are uploaded at the end of the meeting on the AtoM and Archivematica GitHub wiki pages.
Remember, these meetings are open to all contributors and potential contributors! There are a lot of ways to contribute to the projects, from submitting code, to writing issues for bugs or commenting on existing issues, and updating the documentation.
The AtoMÂ community development meeting is held on the third Thursday of the month at 11.30am Eastern time. The joining link can be found on the wiki page.Â
The Archivematica community development meeting is held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 11.30am Eastern time. The joining link can be found on the wiki page.Â
You can check your meeting time by using the timezone calculator.
Roadmap updates
You can view the latest AtoM and Archivematica roadmaps, which will continue to change as we work towards major releases for both. We welcome your feedback, so please contact contributors@artefactual.com or start a thread in the AtoM or Archivematica user forums to discuss.
Part of the user community? We have online user forums, as well as lists of community-run user groups for AtoMÂ and Archivematica.
