In case you missed it, this momentous occasion happened on Friday, September 26th. For the first time, Archivematica and AtoM had major releases on the same day. Archivematica 1.18.0 and AtoM 2.10.0 are now available thanks to the hard work of the project maintainers.
Archivematica 1.18 includes a major upgrade to ElasticSearch 8.x. Please see the documentation for information on upgrading from 6.x to 8.x. JHOVE has been upgraded to 1.34.0 and PRONOM to v120, which features 30 new PUIDs, 32 new signatures and 32 updates. A number of new JHOVE validation commands have been implemented to prevent false positives from JHOVE’s BYTESTREAM module, and now errors are recorded in a PREMIS validation event in the METS file. This means that anyone using JHOVE in Archivematica will see more accurate validation results and have errors as well as passes fully recorded in the AIP METS file.
AtoM 2.10 includes the deprecation of Bootstrap 2. If you are using a BS2 theme, you will need to upgrade your theme before upgrading to AtoM 2.10. ElasticSearch was upgraded to 7.10 and there are number of enhancements including:
Added ability to export accession CSV via Clipboard (community contribution)
Added ability to do bulk CSV exports
Enhanced accessibility of PDF finding aids (community contribution)
Improved Right to Left text layout and full Arabic translation is now available
A huge thank you to our AtoM and Archivematica community contributors for their bug fixes and enhancements! Both releases have included valuable contributions thanks to the support from a growing contributor community.Â
