Today, and everyday, we celebrate digital preservation and digital sovereignty.  This years theme of “Why Preserve” could not feel more fitting. Our Chief Archivist had the opportunity to share a few words about why Artefactual preserves and how it deeply aligns with our beliefs. It can be found on the DPC site, which can be found here . In case you missed it, this momentous occasion happened on Friday, September 26th. For the first time, Archivematica and AtoM had major releases on the same day. Archivematica 1.18.0 and AtoM 2.10.0 are now available thanks to the hard work of the project maintainers. Archivematica 1.18 includes a major upgrade to ElasticSearch 8.x. Please see the documentation  for information on upgrading from 6.x to 8.x. JHOVE has been upgraded to 1.34.0 and PRONOM to v120, which features

The mornings grow cool and the days grow short as Autumn has arrived in the Northern Hemisphere. The contributor community had a busy end of summer, submitting pull requests and commenting on issues in GitHub. The AtoM maintainers deprecated BS2  as part of the upcoming 2.10 release and worked with contributors in August to ensure all pull requests were accepted before the major change took place.
