they/them
Digital Preservation Specialist
As part of the enterprise team, Jay’s role is to support Artefactual clients in articulating and achieving their stated digital preservation and related goals. In 2019, Jay completed a Master’s in Art History from Concordia University, where they developed a passion for research and a devotion to heritage accessibility. In particular, they are interested in the preservation and accessibility of heritage materials from marginalized communities, and in advocating for the importance of these materials in affirming and strengthening communities. These interests brought them to pursue a Master’s in Information Studies from McGill University.
For the past decade, Jay has lived, studied and works in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. While the island itself is known as a gathering place for many First Nations, the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation are recognized as the custodians of these lands and waters.
