Joel Dunham

Joel joined Artefactual in June 2016 as a software developer on the Archivematica project. Joel has a slightly unusual background for a developer: he holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of British Columbia, having combined his interest in under-studied and endangered natural languages with diverse development skills that include Python, CoffeeScript, Backbone, jQuery, Pylons and SQLAlchemy. He has previously worked as a full-stack software developer at Concordia University and as a linguistic database developer and administrator at the University of British Columbia.

In his spare time, Joel is developing a web application (using Django and PostgreSQL) to track membership activities and archive meeting and committee minutes for the Common Ground Co-Op in Surrey, British Columbia.
