Dan Gillean, MAS/MLIS
Dan serves as AtoM Program Manager and provides quality assurance testing, requirements analysis, documentation, technical support and community dialogue for Artefactual’s AtoM and Archivematica projects.
Dan Gillean completed his Dual MAS/MLIS degree at the University of British Columbia’s School of Library, Archival, and Information Studies in 2013. While attending UBC, Dan also worked as an archival assistant at UBC Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections, a Digital Preservation Assistant at UBC’s Digital Initiatives, and a Graduate Research Assistant with the Records in the Cloud project. He is also one of the authors of the recent book, The Canada IFLA Adventure: 85 years of Canadian Participation in the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions 1927 to 2012, (available here). While at UBC, Dan was awarded a Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) grant, won the 2011 ARMA International Education Foundation Award, and was named the 2011 SLAIS Co-op Student of the Year for his work with Records Management Operations, a branch of the provincial government in Victoria, BC. Dan likes to play the banjo in what little spare time he has.
