Archivematica 1.9 released!

We’re pleased to announce the release of Archivematica 1.9 and Storage Service 0.14! This release includes a number of enhancements and fixes. Some highlights include:

AIP migration: This feature allows the Storage Service module to track movements of AIPs between storage locations. In the past, such a move required the search index to be re-run as a separate task. This feature has been sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan. Thank you, MoMA!

Ability to delete stored DIPs via the Storage Service: Many thanks to Simon Fraser University Archives for funding this enhancement, which gives an administrator more control over DIP storage via the user interface.

Improved translation capabilities: It is now simpler to add new user interface translations and maintain them over time, which makes it easier to use Archivematica in other languages. This work builds on work that was originally funded by the Canadian Council of Archives.

Other enhancements and updates: An ElasticSearch upgrade, changes to file format identification workflows, backend FPR improvements, and numerous minor enhancements and fixes have been bundled into this release! For more details and a list of bug fixes please see the release notes on the Archivematica project wiki.
